How I Used to Build Rapport Before Content Marketing
“I don't believe in content marketing.”
I would have said this back in 2017-18 when I worked in sales.
But now that I look back at HOW I did sales, I have no choice but to change my mind about content marketing.
I’d go out to restaurants where I knew my potential clients might hang out and try to strike a conversation with them.
And then, when they asked what I did, they’d often be surprised that I had the exact solution they needed.
Looking back, what I did was build warm relationships with my prospects instead of trying to sell them something all the time.
Content marketing is a way to do the same but at scale.
It automates the process of building rapport and creating engagement with your target audience.
