How to Be Less Awkward in front of the Camera
Here are 2 ways to overcome the awkwardness of recording videos:
1. Having the right expectations:
Evolutionarily, we aren’t used to speaking to the camera. So almost anyone you see being good on camera was awkward the first couple of times they did it. Just knowing that you will feel weird the first couple of times you sit down and speak into the camera will help you get through that over time.
2. Recording in interview format:
Since we’re used to talking and answering questions on video calls, you can record content in interview format.
You can write down a couple of relevant questions and have someone from your team ask those questions either in person or on Zoom (or on Riverside.fm, which is what we use). It feels more natural and easy to record content this way because you’re just talking.
