Tip: Avoid These Phrases When Making Content

STOP using these phrases in your content:

- “My advice is…”
- “Here’s what you should do…”
- “What I’d recommend is…”

No one likes to be told what to do.

After analyzing 100s of content pieces for our clients, here are a few phrases that we’ve seen work well:

- “What has worked for us is...”
- “Here’s what I’ve learned…”
- “Some best practices are…”

Most pieces of advice are context-dependent—

Just because cold emailing works for you doesn’t mean it’d work for everyone.

So when you frame your insights as the latter examples, people are more open to hearing it and seeing if it fits their situation.
