What Is Subject Matter Expertise?
Subject-Matter Expertise Is Answering Prospect's Questions With a Perspective That's New to Them.
Here’s a 2-step process to create such content:
1. Understand your target audience and their needs
LinkedIn advice to a single mom who’s trying to earn an extra 500 bucks/month is different from that to a SaaS founder with 20 employees who’s trying to scale to 5 million ARR.
2. Have a unique perspective
If you’re a health coach, “Eat less to lose weight” isn’t a unique perspective because your prospects heard it before (and it’s not working for them, they’ve tried to just “eat less” and couldn’t stick with it).
Following these 2 steps helps you show that you know what you're talking about – establishing you as an expert in your niche.
Once that’s out of the way, you need to establish two more things:
1. Proof that you can get the results you’re promising (eg. case studies)
2. Rapport (your clients need to trust that they will like working with you)
I’ll start sharing more of these types of videos and into depth about HOW to establish rapport through content etc.
