Why I Stopped Micro-managing My Team
Micro-managing gives us a sense of control.
But it comes with disadvantages:
- It shows your people that you don’t trust them.
- After a point, it becomes a task in itself.
- It’s not good for your peace of mind.
With all these project management tools (Asana, Monday, etc.) and Slack, it’s easier than ever to fall in the trap of checking up with everything when you don’t really need to.
We are currently piloting Basecamp, which takes away all those features, giving my team the freedom to manage their schedules according to their lifestyle and preferences.
